Producers compensated 75% for eligible claims
October 21, 2024
Following a review of individual producer claims, the Canadian Grain Commission determined that there were 29 eligible claims totalling $2.661 million for unpaid deliveries to Global Food and Ingredients Inc. The Canadian Grain Commission will issue compensation from the company’s $2 million security to these producers. Producers will receive 75% compensation for their eligible claims for unpaid deliveries.
We are also working with the receiver, Richter LLP, to realize on proceeds of inventory for allocations to holders of primary elevator receipts. Holders of outstanding primary elevator receipts may receive an additional payout at a later date, once the receivership has been concluded.
